Washington Plumbing Contractors
| Requirements: |
- Plumbing must be conducted through registered contractors.
- Experience requirements are 6,000 hours for Residential Specialty and 8,000 hours, of which 4,000 must be commercial, for Journeyman.
- All applicants for journeyman and residential specialty exams are required to have completed, prior to testing, 16 hours of continuing education with a minimum of 4 hours of that being electrical.

| Services: |
Allows the installation, alteration, or repair of potable water, liquid waste, and medical gas systems within a building in the state of Washington you must be certified by the Department of Labor and Industries. The Department issues trainee, journeyman, and specialty/residential plumber certificates, and medical gas piping installer endorsements.

$122 application fee and a $97.70 (2) year renewal fee.

Reciprocal agreements exist with Oregon and Montana.

| Continuing Education: |
All journeyman and residential specialty plumbers must obtain 16 hours of continuing education within a two-year renewal cycle. Plumber trainees must complete 8 of the required 16 hours every year. All of these required courses must be taken within the renewal cycle. |
| Exam: |
- Minimum score of 70%
- The 3-part examination consists of Uniform Plumbing Code questions, a waste and vent pipe sizing drawing and a water pipe sizing drawing.
